Writing notes with the editor

Capture ideas in a rich text editor with a slash menu, formatting, and colors.

Notes are for longer-form thinking — meeting notes, plans, docs. Each note belongs to a project, and the Notes tool shows all your notes across projects.

Create a note

  1. Open Notes in the sidebar.
  2. Click New.
  3. Give it a title and (optionally) a starting body.
  4. Save — the note opens on its own page, ready to edit.

The editor

Open a note to write in a rich, document-style editor. It autosaves as you type.

  • Slash menu — type / on a new line to insert headings, lists, to-do lists, quotes, code blocks, or a divider.
  • Markdown shortcuts — start a line with # for a heading, - for a bullet, 1. for a numbered list, > for a quote, or wrap text in backticks for code.
  • Formatting toolbar — select any text to bring up a floating toolbar for bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, inline code, links, and text/highlight colors.

Tips

  • Notes autosave, so there's no Save button on the page — just write.
  • Use the project filter in the breadcrumb to see notes for a single project.
  • Colors and highlights adapt to light and dark mode, so they stay readable either way.
