Customizing your theme
Switch between light and dark, and set a full-app background image.
Make avara feel like yours from Settings → Appearance. Open Settings from the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar, then choose Appearance.
Light and dark
Use the Theme control to switch between Light and Dark. Your choice is remembered on your device and applied instantly, with no flash on reload. (You'll also find the same toggle in the account menu.)
Background image
Under Background, pick from the gallery of images to set a full-app background. When a background is active, avara's panels become frosted glass — semi-transparent with a subtle blur — so your photo shows through while text stays readable. Choose None to go back to plain, solid surfaces.
Your background is saved to your account, so it follows you across devices.
Legibility
avara tunes a subtle overlay behind every background so text stays legible over any image, in both light and dark mode. If a particular photo feels busy, try switching themes or picking a calmer image.
Coming later
You'll be able to upload your own background images in a future update. For now, the built-in gallery has a range of tasteful options to choose from.
